Number of parks in the region close following Ophelia

Three parks in the region and a further five in the rest of the country have been forced to close following ex-hurricane Ophelia.

The closures have been made over public safety concerns.

Those closed as of 13:30 on Tuesday, October 17th are:

  • Wexford Reserve
  • Raven Nature Reserve, Co. Wexford
  • Ballykeeffe Wood, Co. Kilkenny
  • St Gobnait’s Wood, Co. Cork
  • Knocksink Wood, Co. Wicklow
  • Grantstown Wood, Co. Laois
  • Tomnafinnoge Wood, Co. Wicklow
  • Some tracks in Wicklow Mountains National Park
