An Abortion Protest Rally will take place in Carlow town today, following the news that abortion services will not operate in the county.
Carlow is one of the four counties in the country that no GPs have signed up to provide the service.
The Rally will meet at Liberty Tree at 2pm and will continue until 5pm this evening.
Among those involved in the protest include People Before Profit TD Adrienne Wallace who urges GPs in the county to provide the service saying:

"We understand it could be daunting but Carlow voted yes, you have the community behind you and women need this service."
In the May referendum, Carlow/Kilkenny received a 63.5% vote for yes, and a 36.5% vote for no with a 60% turnout.
