South East accountant loses Chartered membership over disciplinary issues

A Wexford accountant has had his membership of the Chartered Accountants of Ireland revoked in relation to disciplinary hearings dating back to February 2014.

Alan Hynes also has to pay costs of 550-thousand euro against him in a trial that has dragged on for 12 years.

According to reports in the Irish Times, Hynes actions led to 130 tenants being evicted from rental accommodation, retirees being sued for more than 16 million euro, and small-scale investors losing their life savings.
