Three new route corridor options identified for N24 road upgrade

Kilkenny County Council has identified three possible new route corridors as part of upgrades to the N24.

The new route corridor options, which form part of the N24 Road Improvement Scheme, will be near the village of Mooncoin.

The options have been developed from a previous Project Appraisal Plan Report.

A public consultation process will take place in Mooncoin village on November 27th to give people from the area an opportunity to discuss the three options.

The extended N24 Piltown/ Fiddown bypass from Mooncoin to Carrick-on-Suir had previously been labelled 'the road of deaths' by a local action group, citing the ten lives lost on the road as of 2017.
