Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has promoted a number of Fine Gael TDs to junior ministerial positions this morning.
TDs have been anxiously waiting for phonecalls from the newly elected Taoiseach and a number of appointments have been made known after the early morning Cabinet meeting.
Two South East TD's are among those promoted this morning.
Carlow-Kilkenny's John Paul Phelan has been promoted and given the housing portfolio.

The position was previously occupied by Damien English, who had supported Simon Coveney in the leadership race.
Fine Gael TD for Wexford, Michael D’Arcy has also been promoted to a Junior Minister in the Department of Finance.
