Ours To Protect has officially launched on Beat 102 103!

This is a unique and exciting multiplatform project aimed at raising awareness of climate action across the South East of Ireland and beyond.

In our first episode, Orla Rapple speaks to a panel of Climate Action advocates from the region about their involvement in their organisations and communities, and what effect is being seen in Ireland today from global warming.

She speaks to Waterford native Sadbh O’Neil, member of the DCU Centre for Climate and Society about the the effects of rising temperatures around the world and what is coming down the line for our next generation.

Janette O’Brien, Climate Change Coordinator for Carlow County Council, speaks about how our Carbon Footprint is measured, how people can reduce theirs and the power of one person changing their carbon footprint.

Joining them in studio is the founder of Irish Schools Sustainability Network Patrick Kirwan from secondary school Ardscoil Na Mara where he is also a Science and Biology teacher. Patrick is passionate about change, education and solidarity in this battle against global warming.

One of Patrick's 4th year students, Aoife Milner, is part of the Transition Year Climate and Sustainability Module at Ardscoil Na Mara. She shares her adoration of biodiversity and what younger groups in the region are doing in their schools and locality to help tackle the changes of climate.
