Bohs striker Corcoran makes Countdown appearance hours after Player of the Month win

Fresh from being named Player of the Month for February, Bohemians striker Dinny Corcoran made his Countdown debut.

The striker scored three goals in three February games for Bohs to pick up the SSE Airtricity League/Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland Player of the Month and just a few hours later he appeared on the Channel 4 quiz show.

Corcoran joined Nick Hewer, Rachel Riley and Susie Dent and went up against Maggie Barlow.

Host Hewer quizzed Corcoran about his career and his under-age international appearances.

Corcoran informed Hewer that Ireland got "good support" for soccer despite Ireland being, as Hewer put it, "a bit of a rugby nation".

The striker enjoyed a fine showing on the letters and numbers quiz, but it wasn't enough to see him qualify for the next round. He went down to Barlow by a scoreline of 97-50.

Still, Corcoran will be back in Dalymount Park with his Countdown goodie bag.

Oh, and his Player of the Month award as well.
