Lewis Hamilton says he's excited to get out on the track for the first time.

The seven-time champion's campaigned for the race to be held there in the past.

"This has been a dream for our sport to be in Miami," Hamilton told Sky Sports.

"We've been here to see other sports.

"But our sport will hopefully earn it's right to be here this week.

"We aim to put on a great show for everyone."

Hamilton finds himself in unfamiliar surrounds off the top of the leader's charts.

He'll be hoping that a new track can supply a much-needed boost to Mercedes campaign.
