The annual 'Gowran festival of speed' has been cancelled for 2022.
The festival showcases Group B class cars, celebrity rally drivers displays and world rally cars of the 80's. It has proved to be a popular family day out with food and carnival-style entertainment for the family.
A statement issued from the festivals official Facebook page reads: "It’s with great sadness we have to announce that the Gowran Festival of Speed is cancelled due to last minute complications with our insurance company and we have no option but to pull the event for this year.
"Please take our word for it that we have tried absolutely everything and have gone to the ends of the earth to find a solution.
"For anyone that has already pre-purchased tickets for this event the money will be returned to the card you used at time of purchasing within the next 10 Days.
The event is regarded as one of the largest motor events in the South East and has become an institution for many.
