"The 22-year-old joined the Blues in July 2021 with the 2023 season set to be the striker’s second full season in the RSC.

"A regular last season in Searle’s Blues, Quirtina made 35 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 13 goals with 10 assists during the 2022 season."

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie Quitrina said: "I’m delighted to be staying with the club. I’ve enjoyed my time here so far and I’m really looking forward to the coming season.

"We have the belief that we can gain promotion and put things right for everyone involved with the club.

"The fans deserve it. They were brilliant last season and I know they’ll be with us again this season."

This news comes three days after the departure of fan-favourite Phoenix Patterson, ending speculation that both players would be lost in a week.

Patterson was a standout performer, providing 40 goal contributions in just 58 games during his time at the RSC.

Manager Danny Searle had moved quickly to wish Patterson luck with his move: "Congratulations on your move! I’m sure everyone will join me in wishing you the very best of luck going forward.

"From day 1, you were an absolute pleasure to work with and gave everything you had on a daily basis."
