Ryan Jack goal sees Rangers defeat Celtic in Old Firm clash

A Ryan Jack goal on the half hour mark saw Steven Gerrard's Rangers beat arch-rivals Celtic at Ibrox.

Daniel Candeias should have put the hosts 1-0 up in the 15th minute however, when he connected sweetly with a Ryan Kent cross and fired it goalwards.

Only a fine save from a sprawling Craig Gordon prevented the ball from over the line, and the Scotland goalkeeper was again the hero as he flung himself to his left to paw out Goldson's close-range header, before Morelos headed against the bar from the resulting corner in a frantic few moments for Gers.

They did however, take a deserved lead in the 31st minute after a fine piece of play from Kent on the left, where he turned inside and pulled back to Ryan Jack.

The midfielder hit it low and at Brown, who could only deflect it and leave Gordon wrong-footed to put Rangers 1-0 up.

The final whistle saw the Ibrox crowd celebrate jubilantly along with the Rangers players for their first Old Firm win since 2012.
