iPhone cases recall sparks safety concerns

It’s a sad day for glittery iPhone cases. More than 200,000 cases are being recalled worldwide after they reportedly leaked on people and caused chemical burns, blisters, and skin irritation.

The cases were made by MixBin Electronics, which sold cases for the iPhone 6, 6S, and 7 at major retailers, including Amazon, Henri Bendel, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch, and Victoria's Secret. It also sold them on its website.

Twenty-four cases of irritation or burns have been reported worldwide, including 19 in the US. One person reported being permanently scarred from a chemical burn, while another person reported chemical burns and swelling to her leg, face, neck, chest, upper body, and hands.

MixBin lists all affected cases on its recall notice online, but unless you specifically recognize the design, you might have difficulty identifying your case because some are pretty generic.
