Celebrations across the county for Kilkenny Day

People across Kilkenny are celebrating all that's good about the county today.

Kilkenny Day 2021 is taking place on the feast of St. Canice, the saint that Kilkenny Cathedral is named for.

There are a number of events happening across the county to celebrate it; including film screenings, live music events, history talks, van festivals and food and craft markets.

If you're not the historical type, you can get involved with something more active such as the Kilkenny cycle or go paddling on the Nore.

As well as this, there are a number competitions going on including a challenge to visit and take a selfie at a number of  to be in with a chance to win prizes.

Natives are also being asked to come out in their black and amber to celebrate.
