13 puppies have been found abandoned in Wexford.

A woman parked her car in St Peter's Square yesterday, and noticed a black bag, which she assumed was rubbish.

On returning two hours later she noticed that the bag was moving as she went to investigate she heard a puppy crying.

She tore the bag open to find this plastic container full of puppies, one puppy had escaped from the bag and was struggling in the corner of the bag.

With the help of two young men she brought all 13 puppies to the WSPCA.

A spokesperson says;

"There are definitely two, and possible three different litters, some as young as four to five weeks, they were hungry, little tummies full of worms, and blisters from there own urine."
