That's the figure for October, and is up from 8,475 in September.

Waterford has 64 people who are without a home followed by 45 in Tipperary.

While Kilkenny has 36, Carlow has 33 and Wexford hs 23 people who are now homeless.

Dublin Simon Community says it's a worrying trend, as this is the fifth month that numbers in emergency accommodation have increased.
