Airport security trays said to have more bacteria than a toilet seat

Airport security is a breeding ground for flu and other illnesses according to a new study.

The report published in 'BMC Infectious Diseases' has found that the plastic trays where people put their belongings - including shoes, belts and dirty tissues - have more bacteria than a toilet seat.

Experts have recommended that hand sanitiser be made available before and after airport security.
