A motorist has been penalised after he was caught travelling more than double the speed limit in Co. Waterford.
While conducting a checkpoint earlier this week, Gardaí in Waterford detected an Audi driver speeding at 101km per hour in a 50km per hour zone.
Officers also discovered that the Audi A4 had no valid insurance present on the vehicle.
Gardaí seized the driver's car under the Road Traffic Act.
In a tweet, Gardaí stated:
