Bus drivers in Waterford hold march

Local bus drivers in Waterford marched across Rice Bridge this morning.

They marched up to TD John Halligan's office to deliver a 'letter of protest' to him as they claim that, apart from a brief appearance at the picket line on Monday, he's done nothing to help them, despite promises to the contrary.

General President of the NBRU John Moloney said, "it's a march to Deputy Halligan's office here in Waterford.

It's born out of pure frustration, I think the staff here want to make their views known to him.

He is an elected representative for this particular region and they feel left down by him."

Speaking earlier, Minister of State for Training and Skills John Halligan said he has met workers on the picket and was meeting them at his officer this morning.

He also said he "is concerned about the livelihoods of workers and the future of public transport."
