A Dublin based clown has appeared in court over illegally selling balloons.
33 year old Marcel Stanescu was arrested for the offence in August.
Father of four Marcel Stanescu appeared before Dublin District Court this week.
The 33-year-old, with an address of Gardiner Street Dublin 1, was arrested on August 5th dressed as a clown on Henry Street.
The Irish Independent reports he was accused of 'casual trading' and selling balloons on the street to children without a licence.
The court noted it was a grey area, as he was getting donations in a box for the balloons as opposed to selling them.
Mr Stanescu pleaded guilty to the charge, but the court dismissed it.
He had no criminal charge previously and says he dresses as a clown as a pastime.
