Creative Ireland launch campaign in Wexford

Creative Ireland has been launching a new campaign aimed at promoting Irish culture in all it's forms.

The initiative comes off the back of the successful year-long 1916 centenary celebrations last year.

Wexford was the location of last night's launch.

John Concannon is the director of the Creative Ireland Programme.

He explains the aims of the program:

"What we're trying to do really is bring culture and creativity central to Irish life.

We're doing 5 things.

1, we want to enable the creative potential of every child, secondly a culture creative plan for every community, thirdly a big investment program in culture capital, fourthly focus on media production specifically and fifthly unify our global reputation around our culture and creativity"
