150 Irish SMEs in Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny and Carlow have the chance to receive a free energy audit for their business.
CanCap is a new European project being run in association with the 3 counties energy agency which will offer businesses the chance to improve sustainable measures and reduce energy bills.
A free webinar will be held on the 21st of September for people to express an interest, or to find out more about the initiative.
Speaking to Beat news, EU Projects Manager with 3CEA, Michael Doran, says 4 sectors are being targeted:
"The four sectors are manufacturing, nursing homes, offices, convenience stores and petrol stations. We can provide an energy audit for free. Obviously for most of those businesses energy is not their priority, running their business is.
However, if they're running the business and their energy management in an efficient way, they are gonna save money.
The other thing is the responsibility we've all got to make things better. We've got a climate crisis and one of the things we've got to address is the amount of energy that we use."
