Further flooding in Waterford and Kilkenny

Ireland has suffered further flooding today in Waterford and Kilkenny, according to the Irish Times.

Some schools in Kilkenny, such as this one in Inistioge, have had to evacuated as the River Nore burst its banks. Areas in south Kilkenny, such as Glenmore were also affected.

Waterford was hit hard by heavy rainfall. Both counties remain under an Status Orange rainfall warning. The Fairybush to Woodstown road has been closed due to severe flooding. There are reports of significant floods on the Dunmore Road and Knockboy.

Images have surfaced of significant flooding in Ferrybank. Cork Road, Lisduggan, Jack Meade's pub and Faithlegg Church areas have also reported significant waterlogging.

Areas of West Waterford and East Cork were severely affected by flooding earlier this week. More rainfall is forecast in the next few hours. There is a high possibility of flash flooding in areas of Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny until tomorrow morning.

Residents of areas who regularly experience flooding have been warned to take all necessary precautions.
