Here's how much the Irish Prison Service spent on Netflix and Sky costs last year

The Irish Prison Service spent almost €100,000 last year on Netflix and Sky subscriptions and installation costs.

It's understood that Netflix was provided to prisoners in their cells last year due to increased Covid restrictions, and the lack of mixing with fella prisoners.

Prisoners can't choose what to watch on their cell TVs, instead the choice is made by management, while a charge is levied on them for the luxury.
