8 Irish writers, directors and producers are among the 683 who have been invited to vote on the 2017 Oscars.

Lenny Abrahamson and Ed Guiney from Element Pictures have been chosen to vote for the Academy Awards after last years row over a lack of diversity.

Kilkenny based Cartoon Saloon’s Nora Twomey, Writer Emma Donoghue and The Shore director Orlagh George are also included on the list.

So too are John Crowley, Benjamin Cleary and  Editor Nathan Nugent.
