Man arrested after Waterford priest threatened at knife point

Gardai have arrested a man in connection with a burglary at a parochial house in the South East.

On Monday night a man called to St. Annes Parochial House, Convent Hill in Waterford and produced a knife and demanded money.

The priest who was in the house at the time was uninjured but shaken by the incident.

A 23 year old male has since been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burlary, and is currently detained at Waterford Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
