Ophelia update from Carlow County Council

Ophelia update from Carlow County Council

Whilst the Met Eireann Status Red Alert remains in place, the worst of the storm has now passed and continues to abate

The forecast for tomorrow is for bright and cool conditions with sunny spells.

The Council’s Crisis Management Team met again at 6.30pm this evening to assess the current status and to agree its plans in advance of tomorrow morning.

A number of Water Treatment Plants throughout the county have been effected due to loss of power with resultant depletion in reservoir levels. The public are requested to conserve water. Tankered water supplies will be arranged tomorrow to provide water to areas of the county where power supplies have not been restored.

If you become aware of any emergency situation involving power lines call the ESB immediately on 1850 372 999 or +353 21 2382410 … 24hrs/7days service. This service to be used only in the event of imminent danger. For outages please log same on the ESB website https://www.esbnetworks.ie/power-outages-updates/report-a-power-outage

People should continue to check on vulnerable and isolated neighbours
