Rent rose by over 10% in all South East counties in one year, Daft.ie report finds

Wexford saw the biggest rise in rent prices in the South East up by over 15% in just one year.

According to the latest daft.ie rental report for the last quarter of 2021 (September-December), the county's average rent is €1,050.

However, Waterford City is the most expensive place to rent in the region, with an average rent of €1,191 a month, up 11.3%.

While rent has risen 13.2% in Waterford County with an average cost of €1,178.

Elsewhere in the region, it's €1,162 euro a month in Kilkenny up 11.5%, €1,146 euro in Carlow, up 10.4%, and €1,001 in Tipperary, up 10.1% in one year.

In the last quarter of 2021, the average rent listed nationally was €1,524 a month, while in Dublin it was €2,056.

The new report predicts rents will continue to rise this year due to a lack of supply.
