There were major delays along the quays in Waterford city following a road traffic accident there this afternoon.
The multi-vehicle accident happened around half past three outside the GPO.
Emergency vehicles attended the scene, and reports say at least one person was taken to hospital, but their condition is not known.

Traffic in the area was at a complete standstill for a time, with queues of cars backed up to Ferrybank near the entrance to the Ard Ri hotel.
In the other direction, traffic was backed up all along Parnell street as far as John's Street and also coming in from Newtown as far back as the People's Park.
Gardai have confirmed that the accident has now been cleared and traffic should ease.
