Schools in Ireland performing well but lacking investment - ASTI

Secondary schools in Ireland are performing well but lacking investment.

That's according to the ASTI in relation to the Education at a Glance 2017 report.

91% of students complete second level studies compared to an international average of 68%.

When it comes to investment Ireland ranked 32nd out of 34 countries when it comes to investment.

Deirdre McDonald is the Standing Regional ASTI Rep for Waterford and Wexford she says,"that means we are making this huge progress against poor infrastructure and poor funding.

We're second from the bottom in terms of Government input in terms of investment, yet the third highest in terms of school completion."
