Waterford rose to appear in tonight's Rose of Tralee festival

The 59th Rose of Tralee will be crowned tonight in the festival dome.

14 contestants now remain to take to the stage tonight in the second live show of this year's festival.

Now into it's 58th year, 32 women from all over the world are competing for the title.

Last year saw Chicago Rose, Maggie McEldowney take the crown.

South East hopeful and Waterford Rose Chloe McGrath will appear in tonight's live broadcast on RTE.

She explains her journey to this point:

"I's a dream come true to have made it through to the final on the television.

"I'm really looking forward because the Rose of Tralee was always a household name where I’m from.

"I’ve always looked up to the roses on TV as positive female role models and I always wanted to be one of those role models.

"That’s what made me go to the Waterford selection and I was lucky enough to be selected."
