A woman, originally from Waterford, has drowned on the island of Lanzarote, off the coast of West Africa.
The woman, who was on holidays at the time, is believed to have died yesterday.
It is reported that the woman, who is in her early 40s and was living in London, was with members of her family.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is providing consular assistance to her family.
