Munster have named their squad for the upcoming Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship.

A 32-player strong squad has been named by head coach Niamh Briggs ahead of the Interpros, with action underway on Saturday, August 12.

Out-half Nicole Cronin and back-row Dorothy Wall retain their roles of captain and vice-captain, respectively.

The squad core is familiar, with 24 players retained from last season's Championship-winning squad. Five of the current squad were involved in this year's Women's Six Nations Championship.

There are nine uncapped players named in Brigg's squad; Abbie Salter-Townshend, Ellen Boylan, Jane Clohessy, Beth Buttimer, Aoibhe O'Flynn, Michelle O'Driscoll, Aoibheann Hahessy, Ciara McLoughlin and Ciara O'Dwyer.

Fiona Hayes continues in her role as assistant coach. Munster Rugby Academy and Development staff will continue in their support. Input coming from Head of Rugby Operations Ian Costello, Provincial Talent Coach Ian Keatley, Elite Player Development Officer Tommy O’Donnell, and former Ireland international Sean Cronin.

Team Manager Sara Hartigan continues in her role, having steered the ship over the last two seasons, with nine development players confirmed to train with the squad throughout the upcoming campaign.

The Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship will take place over four successive weekends – beginning on August 12th and running straight through to September 2nd.

Munster kicks off their campaign against Ulster at City of Armagh RFC on August 12th, which is followed by the visit of Connacht to Musgrave Park on August 19th before a trip to Dublin to take on Leinster in Donnybrook on August 26th.

A Finals day will be held on September 2nd, with further details to be confirmed soon.
