Tipperary Nominated For Football All Stars

Four Tipperary footballers have been nominated for All Stars.

The Munster champions are represented on the list released this morning by defenders Kevin Fahy and Bill Maher, midfielder Colin O'Riordan and Conor Sweeney in the forwards.

Ten different counties feature overall, with Dublin leading the way with thirteen nominations, followed by Mayo with twelve.

After winning a first Ulster title since 1997, Cavan have been rewarded with seven nominations, Limerick have received a nomination for the first time in ten years, there are three nominations for Ulster finalists Donegal, two for Galway and with Armagh, Cork and Kerry also represented.

Meanwhile, Dublin’s Brian Fenton and Ciaran Kilkenny are joined by Mayo forward Cillian O’Connor in the shortlist for the PwC GAA/GPA Footballer of the Year Award.

The Young Footballer of the Year award will be heading to Mayo, with Oisín Mullin, Eoghan McLaughlin and Tommy Conroy shortlisted.

The hurling shortlist will be released tomorrow. It is intended that the presentation of the PwC All-Star awards will take place late next month in a TV show that will be in line with Covid-19 restrictions and will be confirmed in due course.
