Fontaines D.C. want to collaborate with Lana Del Rey.

So, if you're a fan of either or both, this is a good news day for you!

Grian Chatten is the Dublin band's vocalist who also happens to be a huge fan of Lana Del Rey. He's told NME that he would jump at the opportunity to write and record music with the 'Blue Bannisters' album-maker.

Speaking to NME, he said: "I just want to write some tunes with her. Her music leans into an era of cinema that I love, and she writes in a way where people can find stories in her music. I honestly think weโ€™d do a really good tune together."

Dublin's Fontaines D.C. also fancy a collaboration with rapper Slowthai.

Chatten said: "Slowthai has got an incendiary quality. Itโ€™s just so refreshing to work with somebody who has an incredibly open mind. His charisma reminds me of something that I read about Mick Jagger before, where those around him would be able to identify his distinctive voice in an instant. Thatโ€™s what Slowthai is becoming."

The band - which also features guitarists Carlos Oโ€™Connell and Conor Curley, bassist Conor Deegan and drummer Tom Coll - also explained they could go in an entirely new musical direction in the future.

He continued: "We could probably throw away the guitars eventually, and the music will still sound like us. I donโ€™t think people would be that mad if we decided to do that, either."

Fontaines D.C. have a busy schedule of gigs both at home and abroad this summer. They play Iveagh Gardens, Electric Picnic, Vicar Street, Limerick's Live At The Big Top & Belfast. Check out more on those here.

Fontaines D.C. are an Irish post-punk band that formed in Dublin in 2017.
