Little Mix has announced they're going on a hiatus

This really is a heartbreak anthem...

Little Mix has announced that they are taking a break from performing as a trio after 10 years together.

In a statement published on their social media accounts, the band devastated fans but confirmed that they are not splitting up completely.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards revealed that the break would happen after their final Confetti tour, which ends in May next year.

The decision was made in order to accommodate time for each of the women to create solo projects.

It comes after reports that Leigh-Anne is planning her own music after singing solo in her movie debut in Boxing Day and Jade has "signed with Lizzo's management team".

They wrote: "We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix.

"It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects.

The news comes almost a year after Jesy Nelson announced her departure from the band in December 2020 after stating that being part of the band "took a toll on her mental health".
