4,152 new cases of Covid-19

4,152 cases of Covid 19 have been confirmed by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.

543 patients are hospitalised, of which 118 are in ICU.

There has been a total of 5,788 deaths related to COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Commenting on the figures the Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan said the announcement that a COVID-19 vaccine will soon be available to children is a significant positive step.
