An 8-year-old boy who was attacked by two dogs in Dublin has died.

It happened at the child's home in Tallaght yesterday afternoon.

He was being treated for his injuries at Crumlin Children's Hospital but passed away this morning.

The two rottweilers involved in the attack were the family's pets and have since been put down.
