Call for alcohol branded awnings outside pubs to be banned

Advertising alcoholic drinks outside pubs and restaurants is against the spirit of Government policy.

That's according to Sinn Fein TD Eoin O'Broin, who believes branded awnings should be done away with.

Minister for Housing Darragh O'Brian says he'll raise the issue in the DΓ‘il and the Oireachtas.

Paula Leonard, National Lead for Community Action on Alcohol, says the branding is legal but should be banned.
