Call for alcohol branded awnings outside pubs to be banned

That's according to Sinn Fein TD Eoin O'Broin, who believes branded awnings should be done away with.

Minister for Housing Darragh O'Brian says he'll raise the issue in the Dáil and the Oireachtas.

Paula Leonard, National Lead for Community Action on Alcohol, says the branding is legal but should be banned.

"At the moment, it could be argued, that these are attaching to licensed premises, although you would have to query about umbrellas or dividers that are further out on the street.
