A man is in intensive care after a serious assault in his apartment over the weekend.
The man, who is in his 30s, was found unconscious by a family member on the floor of his apartment on Mill Street in Tullow in Carlow last night. The victim hasn't been named by gardai.
Gardai believe the man may have been unconscious for up to 19 hours before he was found and taken to St. Luke's Hospital at approximately 10pm. It is understood he made a phone call at around 2.30am on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
The victim remains in the intensive care unit at St. Luke's Hospital.
