Competitors take advantge of the sunny weather on the final day of the National Ploughing championships in Ratheniska, Co Laois.

The second day of the Ploughing sees competitors from across the world compete in the World Championships.

It's expected today will be the busiest of the three days.

Alongside the National Ploughing Championships, international competitors are partaking in the world championships on the second day of the Ploughing in Ratheniska County Laois Today.

President of the NPA, James Sutton, hopes Wexford's John Whelan and Carlow's Eamonn Treacy can secure a world win on home soil.

"We have stage the World Ploughing five times here in Ireland.

"We have never won a world title on our home soil and I have a feeling that this is the year."

Over 91 thousand people attended the first day of the event, with organisers expected even larger crowds today, in what is Europe's largest agricultural event.
