Modular and Prefabricated housing is a solution to the crisis in Ireland according to one South East TD.
Carlow's Jennifer Murnane O'Connor raised the lack of supply with the Taoiseach in the Dail and called for urgent action.
She named one company called 'Carlow Build' who can construct one of these homes in 11 days.
Speaking in the Dail, Deputy Murnane O'Connor urged Michael Martin to consider this option across the country:
"These are topline houses and I want to know how we can fast track this? How can we have a process that we can deliver homes?"
"And I would ask you, Taoiseach, that you would look at this and if there are other companies as well, and also Taoiseach, you know yourself we've got the Mica issue at the moment - we need to build homes, it's just a lack of supply - I would ask if you could look at this."
