Neighbours devastated after body of missing man, 32, found on roof of his home

A man who was reported missing has been found on the roof of his home in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

32-year-old Gerard Colgan was first reported missing on Sunday, October 2nd, prompting a wide-scale search of the locality.

The man, who friends described as "a beautiful soul" and a "kind human" was found on the roof of his home wrapped in a yellow blanket on Sunday last at around 2:40 pm.

According to Leeds Live, neighbours in the quiet residential area of Potternewton Park are devastated following the news, with some feeling helpless over the dreadful situation.

There is no foul play believed to be involved in Gerard's death.

In a statement made at the time, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "The body of a man found on the roof of a house in Leeds yesterday is believed to be a man reported missing from the address.

"Gerard Colgan, aged 32, was reported missing from the address in Harehills Avenue, Chapeltown, on Friday. At 2.40 pm on Sunday, the body was located on the roof."

The spokesperson continued: "It is believed to be Mr Colgan and his family has been informed. There were no suspicious circumstances and the Coroner’s Office has been notified."
