Not all foster children in the South East have a social worker, HIQA report finds

Not all foster children have an allocated social worker.

A HIQA report looked at services in 2019 and 2020.

It found that in four service areas, Carlow/Kilkenny/South Tipperary, Dublin South West/Kildare/West Wicklow, the Mid West and Midlands - one in 5 children did not have a social worker.

The report also shows a high level of compliance across 13 of 17 service areas in relation to preparation for leaving care.
