Research suggests sharing foodie snaps online could make you eat more

Sharing snaps of your food on social media could make you eat more, according to new research.

According to the Irish Daily Mail, research shows it takes diners who photograph their meals longer to feel full and leaves them more likely to want a second serving.

Researchers at Georgia Southern University in the US recruited 145 students and split them into two groups.

Both were given plates of cheese crackers, but half were told to stop and take a picture first.

The results showed those who took pictures scored higher in terms of enjoyment and wanting seconds; stating "memories of food and the act of recording consumption can effect how much we eat."

Every year, billions of photos are posted on social media by food lovers wanting to share their experience with others.

Previous studies however offer a contracting result to the findings listed above, including that it makes food taste better because taking the picture makes the brain concentrate on the smell and taste.
