Swimmer in critical condition following RNLI rescue in Waterford

A man is in a critical condition in University Hospital Waterford after getting into difficulty swimming in Tramore yesterday.

The 51-year-old was recovered from the water by Tramore RNLI near the Guillamine at around 1:15pm.

He had gotten into difficulty about 100 metres from the swimming spot.

The man was rushed to University Hospital Waterford by ambulance, where his condition is described as critical this morning.
