Three Ireland to refund €2.6 million to former customers

Are you a former Three Ireland customer?

You could be one of 173,000 former customers set to benefit from a €2.6 million payment from Three Ireland.

The payment will be made to former customers who were incorrectly charged by the communications company after their contract with the company had already been terminated.

Last year, Three Ireland was found to be in breach of consumer rights regulations by ComReg - a discovery that prompted an internal review of Three Ireland's billing system.

The inquiry revealed that Three Ireland retained post-cancellation charges on inactive accounts and only provided refunds if requested by former customers.

In all €1.28 million was incorrectly billed in post-cancellation charges and a further €1.4 million in credit on inactive accounts.

The refund programme has already commenced and all former customers should receive their payment by late September.
