Two people were arrested on suspicion of fraud offences in the South East yesterday.

An attempt was made to buy items in a shop in Carlow and confuse the shop assistant by the method of payment.

Detectives identified a vehicle used and placed a warning marker on it.

Later Gardaí from Mooncoin in Co Kilkenny encountered the same vehicle and used the Garda Mobility app, which indicated that it may have been used in the commission of a crime.

Mooncoin Gardaí, with the assistance from colleagues in Waterford, arrested two suspects on suspicion of fraud offences.

One man is due to appear in Court this morning.
