Weather warning issued for Wexford & Waterford

It's going to be a blustery weekend!

Met Eireann has issued a yellow wind warning for counties Wexford and Waterford.

Eleven other coastal counties are named in the warning, including Cork, Wicklow and Dublin.

The notice comes into effect from this Saturday, January 26th at 8pm and will stay active until Sunday, January 27th at 9am.

The weather forecaster says that a period of strong and blustery northwest winds will develop over the country on Saturday night along the Atlantic seaboard, with gusts of up to 110km/h expected.

Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly has had his say on the weather warning, taking to his Twitter page to say: "[A] wet and windy start to Saturday, then becoming awfully cold with a wild night Saturday... It will be brass monkeys in the strong wind."
