Wexford council worker remembered as a 'rock of good sense'

The Wexford council worker who was killed in Storm Eunice has been remembered as 'quiet', 'selfless' and a 'rock of good sense'.

The funeral of 58-year-old Billy Kinsella took place in Ballyfad this afternoon, where President Michael D Higgins was represented by his aide de camp.

A model of a Massey Ferguson tractor was presented as a gift at the Mass - representing Billy's love of vintage vehicles.

Fr Richard Lawless says all of Billy's good work in life came to a sudden end last Friday morning.

He told the congregation that the Wexford man was killed 'virtually instantly' after being struck on the head by a heavy branch.
