Wexford Youths could face winding-up order - report

Wexford Youths could face a winding-up order over a debt, according to a newspaper report.

The Sunday Times reports they are facing the order over a €200,000 debt.

The sum is reportedly owed to M&J Wallace which owns the club.

The construction company - owned by Independent Wexford TD Mick Wallace - is in receivership and liquidation.

Mick Wallace is founder and chairman of the club and was declared bankrupt in December.

In 2015 the home ground in Ferrycarrig Park was bought from receivers by the Wexford Football League and the FAI - according to the Irish Independent.

Beat News understands Wexford Youths are in negotiations with the FAI and are preparing for the coming season.
